about the photographer

dave martinidez lives and works in new york city.

he describes his approach to photography as an intuitive one: "i am attracted to moments in time. photography is about light, shadow, and form... and how these elements merge together for an instant, either to be caught by the camera or lost forever. when the moment grabs me, i am either ready to capture it, or it is lost forever."

his work has been exhibited at the jen bekman satellite gallery in new york city, and has been published in a comprehensive guide to travel photography by duncan evans as well as in the inaugural issue of unbound press - an international journal of words & images. his photograph 'sleep' will be featured as the cover art for the forthcoming album by the italian rock band epo.

the images on this website are available for sale as carbon pigment prints.

each print is made using professional quality digital equipment and archival inks, and is available in three paper sizes: 8.5x11 ($65), 11x14 ($95), and 13x19 ($125). additionally, each is signed and dated by the photographer.
